The Garage Concert Series proudly presents Matthew Logan Vasquez on Thursday, October 5 at 7pm at The Garage.
Austin, Texas-native Matthew Logan Vasquez of the indie rock band Delta Spirit comes to The Garage in the midst of a national tour in support of his second solo album, Does What He Wants, which cuts through the hardships of life with positive reflections. He is best known as the lead vocalist for the Delta Spirit and a member of the folk rock group, Middle Brother.
Recognized for his fiery delivery and thought-provoking lyrics, Vasquez draws from a huge and versatile well of influences, including Gram Parsons, Kurt Cobain, Neil Young, and Iggy Pop.
Vasquez met band-mate Brandon Young in 2005. With his bandmates, he made an entrance into the American music scene when Delta Spirit released their first album in 2006. Vasquez has recorded six albums with Delta Spirits, all of which he wrote for. The last two albums, Delta Spirt and Into the Wild, made it onto the U.S. Billboard Top 200 charts, landing at #1 for Heatseeker Albums and #15 for Current Alternative Albums, respectively. He later released a self-titled debut record with Middle Brothers.
Vasquez can play the guitar, harmonica, piano, and drums. Over the past year, Vasquez has built his own studio in his home in Austin as a way to control the terms of his music.
Tickets are $18 plus tax and handling fees. Doors open at 6pm. All ages show. Seated show, first-come first-serve.
