The Garage Concert Series proudly presents American rock band The Districts with very special guest Trap Kit on Monday, March 19 at 7pm at The Garage.
The Districts are a band that exists in this moment. They're described by close friends (and girlfriends) as a well-oiled machine, filthily cult like, and also “normal dudes.”
The Philadelphia four-piece rock band's founding members--vocalist/guitarist Rob Grote, bassist Connor Jacobus, and drummer Braden Lawrence--have known each other since attending grade school together. They channel their long-forged bonds into visceral, explosive genre blurring music. Informed equally by arrangements and dynamics, and a focus on lyrics, they take inspiration from a broad range of sounds and places. They are constantly evolving and hard to pin down.
The most recent album Popular Manipulations has been hailed as stunning. The full-length album represents an exponential leap in sound and cohesion, an impressive and impassioned burn with a wide scope that threatens to swallow everything else surrounding it. Perhaps it's a cliché to say so, but while listening, you might find yourself wondering why people don't make indie rock like this anymore.
Tickets are $20 plus tax and handling fees. Doors open at 6:15pm. All ages show. Standing and seated show, with seats first-come first-serve.
The concert is made possible through support from The Garage - Rapid City, The Numad Group, East of 5th, and Miner Brewing Company.
